2012 NSW Junior Age Titles

After three days of exciting squash athe Coffs Harbour Squash Centre the NSW Squash State Junior Championships  finished on a high with a fantastic number of finals
in front of a capacity crowd on Sunday afternoon.  Honours were shared across the state with players from as far as Goulburn to the south and Parkes and Moree to west and all coastal regions as well as players from the ACT and Queensland.

Tournament organisers were particularly delighted with the turnout of 124 competitors, especially the new players in the younger age groups who put in some great results and showed that squash is flourishing and growing in popularity among the primary school ages. There were some very special moments at the presentations with Tamika Saxby taking out the Under 19 Girls Championship bringing to a close a  junior state career where she has won an amazing 9 State Championships from 2003 to 2012. Tamika has already moved quickly into the senior women’s ranks and is now full time at the Australian Institute of Sport in Brisbane.Brad Williams put together a cracking speech after taking out the Boys under 19′s Championship and left no doubt that the NSW Bluetongues will be vocal and ready at the Australian Championships in September.Geoff Salmon of Dubbo won the Under 17 Boys division proving to strong for his opposition taking out the event without dropping a game. The Salmon family enjoyed further celebrations when younger brother Jacob took out the Boys Under 13 Championship against Liam Bruno of Moree.
